Pimville, Soweto – Tensions erupted in Pimville this week as residents joined forces with e-hailing drivers to protest against local taxi operators, accused of killing a 27-year-old man believed to be a Bolt driver.
The man was reportedly shot and his vehicle set alight outside Maponya Mall. Outraged community members blocked roads and forced the closure of the shopping centre, vowing it will remain shut until justice is served.
Police have confirmed investigations into charges of murder, attempted murder, and arson. A heavy law-enforcement presence remains in the area as authorities work to prevent further violence.
