A 20-year-old model from Bothashoek Village has set her sights on winning the Face of Steelport competition which may mark the beginning of her rise in the beauty pegeant scene.
Enough Malapane a finalist in the prestigious event, has built a growing reputation since beginning her modeling journey in 2022. What started as a school-level interest during her time in Grade 11 at Kweledi Secondary School has now developed into a potential career marked by consistent participation in local pageants.
Encouraged early on to enter competitions, Malapane embraced the opportunity and quickly discovered her passion for the runway. Over the past few years, she has accumulated seven titles, including three Queen titles, positioning herself as one of the promising young faces in her region’s modeling industry.
Her journey, however, has not been without challenges. Like many young women in the public eye, she has faced online criticism and body shaming, experiences that often discourage emerging talent. Instead of allowing these obstacles to derail her progress, Malapane used them as motivation to improve and strengthen her confidence. She views each setback as a lesson that has contributed to her personal and professional growth.
“I went through a lot, especially online, but I refused to let it define me,” said Malapane. “Every challenge pushed me to work harder and believe more in myself.”
She said support from her family and close friends has played a crucial role in her development helping her remain focused and committed to her goals, even during difficult moments. This strong support system, she said, continues to inspire her to push beyond her limits and strive for excellence.
Her participation in Face of Steelport marks a significant milestone in her journey. The competition is widely regarded as a platform that offers young models exposure and opportunities to advance their careers. For Malapane, being selected as a finalist represents both recognition of her efforts and a chance to compete at a higher level.
“Face of Steelport is an opportunity for me to grow and prove that I belong among the best,” she said.
As the Face of Steelport pageant draws closer, anticipation continues to build around the finalists. Malapane remains focused on delivering her best performance, aiming not only to compete but to leave a lasting impression.
With her growing list of achievements and unwavering determination, the Bothashoek model is positioning herself as a strong contender for the crown, while also proving that success is possible for those willing to pursue their dreams with courage and resilience.
