The Mayor of Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality Eddie Maila has commended progress achieved at the Ga-Mokgotho Contract A and B road infrastructure projects which during a recent site visit he described as encouraging.
According to the municipality the projects have now surpassed 60% completion. The projects experienced some delays as a result of heavy downpour and the mayor commended the contractor for getting it back on track.
“This milestone demonstrates the contractors’ commitment to meeting revised timelines following delays caused by heavy rainfall experienced between December 2025 and February 2026,” said the municipality in a statement quoting the mayor.
“ Cllr Maila commended the contractors for their dedication and renewed efforts to ensure the timely completion of the projects, emphasising their importance in improving the lives of local residents. Upon completion, the roads are expected to significantly enhance access and mobility within the village, while also unlocking local economic opportunities,” the mayor is quoted as saying.

id upon completion, the road projects will help unlock the area’s agricultural potential,noting that the abundance of tropical fruits presents an opportunity to stimulate the local economy, create jobs, and support small businesses.
The mayor also committed the municipality to engaging various stakeholders with the aim resolving issues of disagreement which were flagged during his visit as contributing to delays in the projects.
The mayor singled Ntona Makhwese for appreciation for what he said is her continued support of municipal initiatives.
“The Municipality values her leadership and remains committed to working closely with Moshate and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of development projects,” Maila said.
