The assurance comes as thousands prepare to travel and celebrate the Easter holidays across the province.
Hadebe highlighted that the safety of communities remains top priority for SAPS, confirming that the police are fully mobilised, operationally ready and determined to clamp down on criminality throughout the Easter period.
“A safer Easter season requires all of us. Let us act responsibly and work together to ensure a peaceful and incident-free holiday,” expressed Hadebe.
Meanwhile, Transport and Community Safety MEC Violet Mathye has urged road users to prioritise safety during the Easter travel period.
Mathye also said that the department is fully prepared for the upcoming Easter travel period, with intensified law enforcement operations aimed at ensuring the safety of all road users across the province.
Traffic volumes are expected to increase significantly and the department assured heightened visibility through the deployment of traffic officers on major routes and within towns to promote compliance with road traffic laws and reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities.
The MEC called for patience and cooperation from all road users, particularly at tollgates.
“We expect significant movement of buses and minibuses on the R71 from Polokwane towards Boyne and from the Tzaneen direction as well as D4040 from R37 turn-off to ZCC St. Engenas via Maja,” Mathye highlighted.
She welcomed all visitors to the province, encouraging them to enjoy their travel and explore Limpopo’s offerings responsibly.
