Groblersdal’s Kholofelo Makena features as one of the 45 contributors of the book titled “The BEAUTY of SERVICE Volume 1” (Stories of African Ambassadors of Hope), produced by Josiane Tchoumeni Gagoum.
The book comprises narratives from authors of diverse backgrounds across the African continent.
It emerges from a collective intention to highlight individuals who are making a positive impact through compassionate and purposeful service within communities.
The BEUATY of SERVICE underscores the notion that service is not merely an isolated act but a sustainable lifestyle that can be embraced by all.
Makena said the stories of service presented in this volume, which has taken six months to deliver, are transformative as they are not merely narratives but authentic lived experiences.
Readers encounter personal journeys and testimonies, challenges and breakthroughs, practical acts of service and meaningful lessons as well as wisdom and inspiration from the ambassadors as they go through the pages.
“Through engagement with this book, readers are likely to develop a renewed sense of purpose and an awareness that acts of service, regardless of how small, are significant. At the heart of this anthology lies a deeper mission to mobilise resources, extend support and bring hope to orphans and the underprivileged,” Makena said.
She said being part of the project has been an incredible journey. “I am truly honoured to be recognised as one of the African Ambassadors of Hope. To stand among giants, legends, academics and fellow social impact activists is both humbling and inspiring. The recognition gives me the courage to continue touching lives, being a voice for the voiceless and representing the many organisations and individuals whose impactful work often goes unnoticed. This is a reminder that your work matters and that your efforts are seen. Keep making a difference, keep serving and never stop believing in the impact you are creating. Together we are transforming lives and building a better Africa one act of hope at a time,” Makena expressed.
She expressed her commitment to represent the project’s valuables with integrity and compassion, encouraging others to become agents of positive change.
“By sharing my story and the stories of communities, I hope to inspire more people to take action, support vulnerable children and families as well as contribute to building stronger and more resilient communities across Africa,” Makena said.
