THE STORY OF LIMPOPO’S UNCONVENTIONAL REHABILITATION
The much publicised Limpopo fight against drug abuse has been plunged into controversy with the arrest of famous drug buster Tsebe Phllimon Moloto for suspected arson.
The arrest follows an ongoing bad breakup with Lebo Rachidi with whom Mr Moloto as the rehabilitation activist is known as, had romantic and business relations. The two ran the Limpopo Anti-Drug Gangsterism and Crime ( LADGAC), a rehabilitation center with a reputation of using unconventional methods including force.
Authorities believe Moloto went on the offensive after his former lover established a rehabilitation facility of her own torching a Toyota vehicle and signage of the new center.
Moloto was this week granted bail of R50 000 after being charged with two counts of malicious damage to property.
“Moloto faces two counts of malicious damage to property. He also made a brief appearance in the Seshego Magistrates’ Court in connection with one of the charges,” said the National Prosecuting Authority Limpopo in a statement released after Moloto’s appearance in court.
The NPA also confirmed the incident is linked to what is now viewed as a ‘bad breakup’.
“It is alleged that Moloto and the complainant were previously involved in a romantic relationship and were business partners at the LADGAC Rehabilitation Centre in Seshego. Following the breakdown of both their personal and business relationship, the complainant allegedly established her own rehabilitation centre,” said NPA Limpopo.
“ The State alleges that, on 28 June 2026, Moloto poured a flammable substance onto a Toyota Hilux belonging to the complainant while it was parked at her parental home in Seshego Zone 3.
In a separate incident, it is further alleged that Moloto set alight a signage board advertising the complainant’s new rehabilitation business in Ladanna.
The matter was postponed to 22 September 2026 for further police investigations,” said the NPA detailing how it believes Moloto committed the alleged offenses.
So far Moloto is the only accused in the matter and he is yet to plead to the charges.
