Magesi Football Club has announced the departure of six players ahead of the new season.
The Moletjie-based Motsepe Foundation side released Edmore Chirambadare,Reagan van der Ross,John Mokone,Lehlogonolo Mtshali,Mcedi Vandala and Sifiso Luthuli.
Immediately after its relgation from the Betway Premier Soccer League, the team parted ways with its head coach Allan Freese together with four other technical staff members as the club prepares for the 2026/27 season in the lower yet just as tough league.
Magesi FC has appointed former Highbury FC mentor Kabelo Sibiya as the new head coach.
Sibiya brings a wealth of experience to the club with a new technical team which includes former Baroka FC and Chippa United coach Morgan Mmamila as Director of Football.
The Magesi FC board under club owner Solly Makhubela has set a mission of returning to the elite Betway Premiership within the next two seasons.
The team was relegated to the second tier of the South African professional football after their 1-1 draw against Milford FC in their Promotion/Relegation Play Offs last month.
In another development,two – newly promoted clubs to the elite Betway Premiership have signed new players.
Milford FC have acquired the services of former Summerfield Dynamos FC footballer Admiro Chabangu while Kruger United welcomes former Magesi FC striker Thabang Sibanyoni.
